The city is a major centre for banking, electronics and aerospace industries. Many international headquarters, ministries, conference centres, sports venues and museums are located in Rome's principal business districts: the Esposizione Universale Roma (EUR); the Torrino; the Magliana; the Parco de' Medici-Laurentina and the Tiburtina.

Leonardo da Vinci Airport is about 34 kilometers (21 miles) by car from Rome's historic city center, and cab rides can be expensive. Leonardo Express trains run non-stop to Termini Station in Rome twice an hour; regional trains leave once every 15 minutes, stopping at all train stations between the airport and the city centre.

The Rome Metro is part of an extensive transport network made of a tram routes, buses and suburban railways around the city. The Metrebus integrated fare system allows holders of tickets and integrated passes to travel on all companies vehicles, within the validity time of the ticket purchased.
