About Monument

Monument is most famous for the Monument to the Great Fire of London, more commonly known as the Monument. The Monument is a 202ft-tall stone Roman Doric column in the City of London, located near the northern end of London Bridge, and Monument tube station is named after this.

Constructed between 1671 and 1677, the Monument is the tallest isolated stone column in the world. It stands at the junction of Monument Street and Fish Street Hill, 61.57 metres from where the Great Fire of London started in 1666. Another monument, the Golden Boy of Pye Corner, marks the point near Smithfield where the fire stopped.

Located just a short walk from Bank, Monument is situated in the City, London’s financial district. Situated on the District and Circle lines of the London Underground, Monument provides good transport links to the rest of London. The majority of the serviced apartments Monument has to offer are near transport links of some kind.
