Limassol, on the south coast of Cyprus, is the country’s second largest city.

A significant amount of the city’s total income is generated by tourism. Limassol also has over 350 industrial zones, manufacturing a wide range of products for export including electronics, textiles, metals, furniture and plastic wares.

A number of yearly festivals take place in the city. The 10-day Limassol Carnival has its roots in Pagan rituals and is now a large, popular festival with parades, fancy dress competitions and parties. The Wine Festival of Cyprus takes place in Limassol every September and other festivals include the Festival of the Flood (June) and the Festival of Ancient Greek Drama.

Limassol has three major motorway routes running though it, which link to directly to Paphos, Troodos and Nicosia. The Limassol district does not have its own airport but is served by Larnaca International Airport (LCA), 67 km away from the city centre and the largest airport in Cyprus.
