Country Facts - Kenya

Kenya is a small country located in East Africa; it borders Tanzania to the south, Uganda to the west, Ethiopia to the north and the Indian Ocean to the east. The country lies on the equator and it has one of the most advanced economies in East and Central Africa.

The biggest contributor to the national income is tourism, which accounts for over 60% of the overall GDP. The most notable tourist destinations in Kenya include the game reserves and the coastal beaches. The second biggest contributor to the GDP is the agriculture sector. Over 75% of people in Kenya make their living from agriculture, with the biggest products being tea, coffee, fruit and vegetables.

Kenya is known as the central hub for financial services in the whole of Central and Eastern Africa and the Nairobi Stock Exchange is ranked 4th in the whole of Africa. The exchange consists of 43 commercial banks, financial institutions, loan associations, and foreign exchange bureaus.

With many people deciding to travel to Kenya on business, the serviced apartment industry provides ideal accommodation options throughout the country. With more space and flexibility than a hotel room, a serviced apartment offers corporate travellers a more affordable and comfortable solution for long term stays and relocations.
