About Hyderabad

Hyderabad is the capital of Andhra Pradesh in Southern India.  It is a city rich with history and tradition, Hyderabad now competes with Bangalore and Chennai for the crown of India’s IT capital. Microsoft and Google have their India headquarters here.

Hyderabad is the meeting ground between north and south India. Due to a recent influx of young men and women from various parts of the country, Hyderabad’s culture and attitudes have taken a turn towards ‘modernity’. However you will still need to dress conservatively when in Hyderabad, particularly in the old city.

Hyderabad has a tropical climate. The best time to visit if from November to February as there is mild temperatures and a fair amount of sunshine. March to June can be very hot and a lack of air conditioning in the city can make it quite uncomfortable. July, August, September and October are quite warm and humid. It is also monsoon season so remember an umbrella.

Telugu and Urdu are the most widely spoken languages in Hyderabad. Well educated people will speak English and signs in English are common.

Hyderabad is well connected to all parts of India by air, rail and road. There are many ways to get around Hyderabad. It has a good bus service, taxi service and train service.
