About Antrim

County Antrim is a county in Northern Ireland. Within it, Antrim is a small working-class town that is rich with history and a peaceful place to stay.

Antrim is known around Ireland for being one of the most beautiful places in the country, particularly the road along its coast. The Antrim coast is also home to the unusual rock formation known as the Giant’s Causeway. It consists of some 40,000 basalt columns rising out of the sea - it's certainly worth a visit and is easily accessible by train.

There is plenty to see and do when staying in Antrim. Bushmills Irish Whiskey Distillery is the oldest working distillery in county Antrim and visitors are invited to take a tour while tasting nine different types of whiskey. You’re likely to be more merry coming out than you were when you went in.

There are plenty of restaurants and shops to choose from in the town centre and there is a large outlet shopping centre just outside of the town. However, if you fancy venturing out of Antrim or are working in some of the bigger cities such as Belfast, this is easy to do. Antrim has frequent buses to Belfast that run every 20-40 minutes depending on the time of day. There is also a joint bus and train station with frequent routes to all of Northern Ireland and to Dublin.
