The Bourke Serviced Apartments are part of a newly built development (2010) within the Central Business District of Melbourne, less than a 30 minute drive from Tullamarine airport. The Melbourne serviced apartments offer access to major business and financial offices, as they are situated in the CBD, as well as many world-renowned restaurants, entertainment areas, the shopping district and theatres.

The serviced apartments are stylish decorated and the air-conditioned rooms are equipped with all the amenities you would expect in your home-from-home. Guests are also given free access to a heated indoor pool, fitness centre, sauna and sundeck.

The building also has a host of conference and meeting rooms as well as high speed internet. These services are chargeable.

The building has 24 hour security, electronic key cards and in-room safes.

Melbourne

Founded by free-settlers in 1835, Melbourne was transformed from a small pastoral settlement situated around the Yarra River into a growing metropolis by the Victorian gold rush in the 1850s. By 1865, "Marvellous Melbourne" was Australia's most populous and important city. It served as the temporary national capital from the Federation of Australia in 1901 until the construction of Canberra in 1927.

Melbourne is a major centre of commerce, industry and cultural activity. Often referred to as the sporting capital of Australia it is home to many of Australia's major annual sporting and cultural events, and was the host of the 1956 Summer Olympics and the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Melbourne is renowned for its Victorian architecture, including the Royal Exhibition Building, and its notable landmarks such as the iconic Flinders Street Station and the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The extensive tram network is the third largest in the world and the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. Visitors are served by a free City Circle Tram, taking in many tourist sights.

Federation Square at the junction of Flinders and Swanston Streets is the heartbeat of Melbourne's commercial and nightlife quarters.

The International Airport is located in Tullamarine which is north of the city. Other than taxis, the Skybus service is the only available public transport service to the airport direct from the Melbourne CBD, the trip taking approximately 20 minutes from Southern Cross Station.
