London is the capital of England and of the United Kingdom. London Bridge over the River Thames, links the City of London on the north bank to Southwark on the south. It is between Cannon Street Railway Bridge and Tower Bridge; it also forms the western end of the Pool of London. London's original bridge made this one of the most famous bridges in the world, however the previous one was shipped to Lake Havasau City in Arizona. It was the only bridge over the Thames in London until Westminster Bridge was opened in 1750. On the south side of the bridge is Southwark Cathedral and London Bridge station. On the north side is the monument to the Great Fire of London and Monument tube station. A bridge has existed at or near the present site for nearly 2000 years.

London Bridge is home to the conveniently named London Bridge Hospital, Guy's Hospital and the H.M.S. Belfast on the Thames which is frequently used as a popular venue for receptions and smaller banquets.

Direct links to Cannon Street and Waterloo Stations make this a true pivotal point on the south bank of the river. Because London Bridge underground station is on the Northern line, business travellers staying here have easy access to Bank, King's Cross, and Euston.
