Never underestimate the size of Los Angeles, for the size of this connurbation stretches hundreds of miles, except into the Pacific. Although it generally not wise to attempt any journey without a car, frequent buses connect neighbourhood centres and the subway and light rail lines are expanding.

LAX Airport is 15 miles south of the city centre Downtown, but Burbank Airport is closer to the film studios of the San Fernando Valley to the north of the city.
