Bracknell is a town with a population of 110,000 lying 11 miles (18km) to the south-east of Reading and 30 miles (47km) west of London. The town is surrounded, on the east and south, by the expanse of Swinley Woods and Crowthorne Woods.
With good access to the national motorway network, the town has been successful in attracting high-tech industries, and has become home to companies such as Panasonic, Fujitsu-Siemens Computers, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Siemens, Honeywell, Cable and Wireless and Novell.
The town centre is completely pedestrianised and offers much undercover shopping around Princess Square, Charles Square and the Broadway. Leisure options include a multi-screen cinema and ten pin bowling at the Peel Centre, Bracknell Leisure Centre, the Coral Reef Water Park, The Downshire Golf Complex and the Bracknell Ski and Snowboard Centre.
