Egham, with a population of 6,000, is a small town in the London commuter belt 19 miles (30km) southwest of central London, on both the River Thames and the M25 motorway. It is just 4 miles from Heathrow Airport and Egham train station has frequent services to London Waterloo and Reading.
The Magna Carta was sealed at nearby Runnymede in 1215, and is commemorated by a memorial, built in 1957 by the American Bar Association, at the foot of Cooper's Hill.
Egham is home to a large research centre for Procter & Gamble on the Rusham Park Technical Centre. P&G has over 550 employees in Egham, working on fragrance, beauty care and health care brands, such as Hugo Boss, Olay, and Vicks.
