Waterloo station is also the terminus for the Eurostar train to Paris.

With a large port and five international airports, London is a major international transport hub. Its main airport at Heathrow carries more international passengers than any other airport in the world.

Paddington is an area of west London in the City of Westminster, 2.2 miles (3.5 km) north-west of Charing Cross. The name was recorded as Paddington in 1056. Important places in Paddington include Paddington station, St Mary's Hospital (and nurse-training centre) and Paddington Green (high-security) police station. There is close access to Hyde Park, the lively Bayswater district and the A40(M). The Paddington arm of the Grand Union Canal to Birmingham terminates at Paddington Basin.

Paddington has a main-line railway station, Paddington station, with commuter service to the west of London (e.g. Slough, Maidenhead, Reading, Swindon) and main-line service to Oxford, Bristol, Bath, Taunton, Exeter, Plymouth, Cornwall and South Wales (including Cardiff and Swansea). There is also the Heathrow Express service to Heathrow Airport. Further, Paddington Station is a main connector to the Tube lines of Hammersmith and City, Circle, and District lines which connect to all other major airports and in turn the world.
