London is the capital of England and of the United Kingdom. Travel around London on public transport is easy and frequent. The London Underground (more commonly known as “The Tube”) serves 275 stations and there are hundreds of bus routes serving the city and suburban areas. London has five main train stations:-Waterloo, Victoria, St. Pancras, Paddington and Euston, with trains running to all of Britain’s major cities. Waterloo station is also the terminus for the Eurostar train to Paris.

With a large port and five international airports, London is a major international transport hub. Its main airport at Heathrow carries more international passengers than any other airport in the world.

Knightsbridge is a street and district spanning the City of Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, London. It is notable for its rich and famous residents including several billionaires, fashion designers Valentino and Tom Ford of Gucci, members of the Saudi Royal Family, and many television, film and music stars including Joan Collins and the late Freddie Mercury. Expensive shops, including the exclusive department stores Harrods, owned by tycoon Mohammed Al Fayed and its neighbour Harvey Nicols are to be found here. Many apartment buildings have CCTV, doormen and iron grills covering lower floor windows.

Because of its Central London location, Knightsbridge is always busy. Clubs and casinos in the district are often hired out for fashion and society parties. Recent hosts to the areas many socialites include Giorgio Armani, Elton John and Jennifer Lopez. It is not uncommon to see paparazzi photographers prowling the streets looking for targets or grouped en masse outside venues such as San Lorenzo.

Tube Stations: Knightsbridge, Hyde Park Corner, Sloane Square, South Kensington. All these provide excellent access to the West End theatres and night clubs.
