A serviced apartment is a residential apartment, let or rented out on a nightly basis in generally the same way as a hotel room. A serviced apartment is fully furnished, has a fully functioning and equipped kitchen, or as a minimum a kitchenette, has a working and use-only chargeable telephone line and most importantly is serviced. Service levels must, as a minimum, mean being fully cleaned with a change of all linen and towels at least once per week. SilverDoor grades and evaluates all of its serviced apartments on a scale of one to five with its unique SilverRing guide. The SilverRing guide is your guarantee of the level of standard and facilities at every SilverDoor property. To qualify for a SilverRing award, a serviced apartment must reach stringent standards and provide certain minimum facilities and amenities. For each subsequent SilverRing award a serviced apartment must meet all the previous SilverRing requirements. The following is a guide to the criteria we use to award SilverRings but at each level we also carefully take into account the overall standard and quality of the apartment and facilities. One SilverRing is awarded to true serviced apartments, to qualify they must be fully furnished, have a fully functioning and equipped kitchen or kitchenette, have a working use-only chargeable direct-dial telephone and have maid service with a full change of towels and linen at least once per week. Two SilverRings are awarded to serviced apartments that also have a laundry service or communal laundry, a dishwasher, CabSat TV, a DVD player, a Hi-Fi System, a fax facility and modem point. Three SilverRings are awarded to serviced apartments that also have a washer/dryer in the apartment, a safe deposit box, broadband or wireless broadband and a business centre or secretarial service. Four SilverRings are awarded to serviced apartments that also have a 24hr reception, maid service at least five times per week, parking, air conditioning, a private terrace or balcony, pay-per-view TV, a DVD library and access to a health club. Five SilverRings are awarded to serviced apartments that also have a concierge, daily maid service, room service, restaurant, gardens or a roof deck, an MP3 plug-in facility and access to a swimming pool. For three compelling reasons. Firstly that SilverDoor provides you with access to the largest available range of serviced apartments worldwide and that our database of properties continues to grow day by day. As an independent agent our opinion and grading of our apartments is unbiased, we have no commercial or financial interest in any of our properties and so our clients can be certain that they are only offered property options by us that specifically match their requirements. Secondly because SilverDoor will always aim to offer you a price that is better than anyone else can for the same reservation enquiry and also better than you could find for yourself. We can do this primarily because of the volume of business we place with our partner properties. Thirdly because we offer our service to all our clients completely free of charge and we pride ourselves on our levels of customer service. The reason we can offer our service free of any additional charge is that as a business we operate on a commission basis with all our partner properties, so you don't pay for the privilege. Why don't you give us a try and see for yourself, what have you got to lose? The reason for this is that it is very difficult to be price specific at any given time. Serviced apartments differ from hotel rooms because there are so many variables with each and every reservation enquiry. Apartment rates change with the seasons, change subject to availability, change subject to the length of stay, change depending on the number of bedrooms required and also change depending on the service levels available. SilverDoor will always seek to match your reservation apartment needs to your budget along with providing you with a substantial discount on the standard rates for property it offers. You wouldn't expect to stay at The Ritz and pay Travelodge prices, but if you stayed at the Ritz and paid Hilton prices, or stayed at a Hilton and paid Travelodge prices you'd no doubt be pleased and that's the principle we follow. We advise all our clients to compare serviced apartment costs to nightly hotel rates and not long term non-serviced residential let prices. It is important to remember that there is no such thing as a standard cost for a serviced apartment. Rates vary depending on the quality and size of each apartment, the services and features included, the length of stay, availability and of course the time of year. As a guide SilverDoor uses the following price guide (in UK Pounds Sterling) for all serviced apartments. The guide is based on a one-bedroom apartment and is a nightly rate exclusive of VAT at the prevailing rate. Price band A, £50 to £74 Price band B, £75 to £99 Price band C, £100 to £124 Price band D, £125 to £174 Price band E, £175 to £224 Price band F, £225+ It's really easy, all you have to do is pick up the telephone and call us on +44 (0)20 8630 7200 and one of our highly trained staff will attend to your enquiry. Alternatively contact us by email through this website with your specific reservation requirements or questions. SilverDoor invoices for all reservations at the point of booking confirmation. Where a reservation is more than two months in duration the first two months will be invoiced initially and any subsequent period invoiced on a monthly or three monthly basis, no more than a month in advance. All new reservations must be paid for in full before first check-in. SilverDoor only accepts payment in Sterling and provides all its clients with two ways to pay, being either on invoice or by card transaction. Invoices are payable by direct bank transfer but occasionally Sterling cheques are accepted. SilverDoor accepts card payments from American Express, MasterCard, Visa, JCB, Maestro and Electron. Please note that SilverDoor does not absorb the charges applied by the various card supplying companies but adds these costs as a specific transaction charge to each card payment request. No, SilverDoor can provide you with a serviced apartment for one night, one week, one month, one year or even longer. Most of our properties are available on a nightly basis and you only pay for the specfic number of nights that you use, however some of our properties have minimum stays of one week or one month and a few have minimum stays of three months. SilverDoor will not offer you a serviced apartment option where the minimum stay at that property is longer than the number of nights you actually need. SilverDoor has many types of clients. The majority are large corporations who have a requirement to provide hundreds and sometimes thousands of apartment nights per year for both their relocating staff and people on business trips. However, at the other end of the scale, SilverDoor also caters for the leisure traveller who may only need a a few nights accommodation per year. All SilverDoor serviced apartments must have a fully functioning and equipped kitchen or kitchenette. As a minimum the kitchen must provide an oven and or microwave, a fridge, glassware, crockery, cutlery, cooking equipment and washing up facilities. |
