Brunch is fast becoming our favourite meal of the day – not least because it can justify having a whole extra meal between breakfast and lunch – or is that not the idea? Anyway, here is our selection of some of the best places to have brunch if you're around the city for the day or staying in one of our serviced apartments in London. There’s something for everyone here, whether you’re after a traditional English breakfast, something a little different, something sweet or simply breakfast with an incredible view.

Duck and Waffle

Duck and Waffle is located on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower in the City of London and is open 24 hours a day. Boasting the title of highest restaurant in the UK, this perfect brunch spot has one of the best views across the city. Get there early enough and you can watch the city as it wakes. The British and European inspired breakfasts are made with seasonal, local ingredients. Try the restaurant’s namesake, duck and waffle - confit of duck and fried duck egg served with mustard maple syrup.

Perfect if you’re staying in a serviced apartment in Bishopsgate.

The Wolseley

If you’re looking for a typically English breakfast, head to the Wolseley in Piccadilly. Turning brunch into a rather grand affair, the restaurant is housed in a Grade II listed building which was once a Wolseley car showroom. The restaurant isn’t as expensive as you might think and is the perfect place for a business brunch or to just peruse the morning papers at the weekend.

Perfect if you’re staying in a serviced apartment in Green Park or Piccadilly.

Koya Bar

Unlike sister restaurant, the established Koya, Koya Bar is open for breakfast! Putting a Japanese twist on English favourites in an authentic setting, the ‘English’ breakfast comes with fried egg, bacon and shiitake. For a slightly lighter start to the day, choose from a variety of porridges including porridge with pickle, tsukudani and egg.

Perfect if you’re staying in a serviced apartment in Soho.

The Modern Pantry

If you’re looking for a sugar hit at brunchtime then try the Modern Pantry in Clerkenwell. Just the list of jams is sure to get your mouth watering with gooseberry, cherry and kumquat marmalade on offer. For something sweet and savoury, try the raspberry and ricotta pancakes.

Perfect if you’re staying in one of our Farringdon serviced apartments.
